Botanical name: Bacopa hamiltoniana Family: Plantaginaceae (Isabgol family)

Narrowleaf Water Hyssop is a stout herb, erect or
prostrate at base, stem simple or branched. Leaves are up to 2.5 x 0.5
cm, linear lanceshaped, pointed, base flat, entire, nearly stalkless.
Flowers arise stalkless, in leaf-axils; bracteoles linear, fine-tipped.
Flowers are bluish-pink, slightly longer than the sepal-cup; upper lip
notched. Stamens are didynamous; anthers white, style dilated at tip.
Sepal-cup is 4 mm long, 5-partite, 2 outer sepals broadly ovate, 3 x 3
mm; inner 3 x 1 mm, lanceshaped. Capsules are spherical, 3 mm across;
seeds narrowly oblong, yellowish-brown. Narrowleaf Water Hyssop is
found in Tropical Africa, Madagascar and the Indian subcontinent.
